Wartales Trade Goods Guide (1)

Trade goods in Wartales are Crates containing a variety of items, which are currently Amber, Pelts, Pottery, Spices, Scrolls, Silver, Wool, Gems, Marble, and Perfume. Crates are occasionally found as loot but are more commonly found for sale in towns or on traveling merchants.

When entering a town, the goods it produces are shown in a box at the bottom left of your screen. If a town produces a good, this is where it will be the cheapest to purchase and the worst place to sell it.

It may not seem as though there is a huge amount to be made from trading, but in a game where you’re often traveling long distances across regions, it is a good idea to keep an eye on the prices. Especially at higher difficulty levels, money can be tight, especially if you want to upgrade all your Legendary Items and upgrade skills. Every Krown is welcome!

Just be sure you’re earning more than the cost of the food and wages you’re having to use. If so, you can make as much as you like on trade routes, as while there’s a time and date in Wartales, it does not affect any of the quests or ongoing regional storylines. You can take your time without penalty if that’s how you want to play.

Wartales trade goods best sale locations and prices

These were the best prices to sell trade goods in Wartales (subject to changes in updates, as the game is still being actively patched). Many of the best prices are now to be had by trading to Belerion Archipelago, which requires you to have the DLC installed.

Note that there is usually money to be made in smaller amounts on most products, so as you work out your routes be sure to fill up with anything you can sell so as not to waste your carrying capacity.

If you want to set up trade roots, you'll also want to factor in time in terms of food consumption cost. For example, it is not worth going all the way to Gosenberg to sell Amber if Cortia is much closer.

How to increase trade and sale profits in Wartales

Several bonuses can be taken to improve your trade prices, as well as other sale prices to merchants, via choosing certain knowledge options from Paths. See the available bonuses below:

  • Trade and Craftsmanship Path: Skillful Merchants' Knowledge increases sale prices by 10 percent, while Suppliers' Knowledge reduces purchase prices by 10 percent. Taking Goldsmiths' Knowledge will also see you increase the profit on Luxury Items by 50 percent.
  • Mysteries and Wisdom Path: Taking Archeologists' Knowledge increases the sale price of Antiquities by 50 percent.
  • Power and Glory Path: Taking the Trade of Forged Goods Knowledge will increase the sale price of all crafted weapons and armor by 10 percent per quality star.

The effects of certain foods will also temporarily boost your trade prices between rests:

  • Seed Sausage: This gives a 10 percent bonus to trade good prices (or 15 percent for the delicious version) until your next rest.
  • The Broker's Table: This gives a 20 percent bonus to trade good prices (or 25 percent for the delicious version) until your next rest.

Other Knowledge in Paths can also have knock-on effects on your trade potential, such as Trade Horses and Transporters, both of which increase carrying capacity. Additionally, you can enable the title Trade Fair on the Banner in your camp (once crafted) to further increase the price of sold-crafted gear by 50 percent.

Bounty list trade missions

Finally, note that you can also find Trade Missions on the List of Bounties that you’ll find available from the Emissary in each tavern across the provinces. You might also want to take some bounty missions as these are particularly good if you've outgrown an area and you're playing region-locked. There is a lot of easy money to be made from what will now be very easy battles.

Trade missions can give you a nice profit margin, so they’re worth keeping an eye out for, especially if you have the Negotiators Skill (also under Trade and Craftsmanship), which allows you to try and negotiate up your bounty fee. You should always try and do this, as a failure simply stops you from trying again on that contract (there is no penalty).
